Product details
Large, hand-carved wooden sculpture from Alpine folk art, created between 1900 and 1930. It depicts Mary as the Immaculata, standing on the crescent moon, her head slightly bowed, her gown in soft, flowing folds. The surface is stained and polished and has developed a warm, satin patina over time, ranging from dark brown to burgundy. Tool marks remain visible on the underside, as do later inscriptions that are no longer legible today. A silent object with presence.
