    Why old frames stand so quietly

    Mortised solid wood frames barely move and rarely creak. Where today's beds rely on fittings and chipboard, older models carry the weight through the timber joint itself. A frame that has been tightened up will often outlast its successor from the furniture store.

Do old bed frames fit today's mattress sizes?
