The Organic Conference Chair was created in 1940 as a competition entry for "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" at MoMA in New York. Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen were searching at the time for a one-piece, organically shaped seat shell and were ahead of their time. Only years later did the idea become ready for series production. This example from Vitra shows the calm, sculptural line particularly clearly. The Hopsak upholstery in yellow and lime green sets a precise color accent without appearing loud. Very good condition.
