With the DS-57/01, Franz Romero translates the automobile into furniture. The sculptural armrests, extending to the floor, echo the fenders of the Bugatti Type 57. The seating position is low and slightly reclined. The volume is compact, the lines flow smoothly. A tranquil lounge character, yet assertive. Manufactured by De Sede, the armchair showcases Romero's flair for volume and comfort. Black leather upholsters the furniture, the form remaining clean and uncluttered. A piece of Swiss design from the 1980s that masterfully combines material, gesture, and reference.
