A hand-carved mortar from the 1970s, in a powerful, brutalist silhouette. Its sculptural form highlights the vibrant grain of the wood. A blend of functional object and small sculpture. Attributed to Piero de Buren; marked "Artigianato Bornese" on the underside. Suitable as a rustic accent on a table or as a central object in a still life. Warm in appearance, calm in presence. Original condition with authentic patina and age-appropriate signs of wear. Functionally usable, but also striking on its own. A subtle statement in the room. Pleasantly tactile.
