This decorative soapstone box is crafted as a stylized pumpkin, with a matching lid and a gently rounded silhouette. The surface is carefully polished, showcasing the stone's natural markings: cream-beige, honey-gold, and brown veins and flecks that appear calmer or more vibrant depending on the light. Likely an Asian piece from the late 20th century. As an object, it works equally well on a sideboard or a coffee table, remaining pleasantly understated.
