This French sugar bowl from around 1880 to 1930 subtly and precisely combines everyday utility with table culture. Silver-plated metal, a round base, and two side handles give it a clear, classic silhouette. Beaded friezes on the body and base allude to the ornamentation of French silverware of this era without becoming overly decorative. Under the base are hallmarks with "PT" and an encircled cat's head. The surface shows a well-maintained patina with fine micro-scratches, and slight signs of use inside.
