Product details
This stoneware Venus is a study in volume and tranquility. A female torso, reduced to the chest and thighs, lying on its back. The sandy textured, light brown glaze softly absorbs the light and emphasizes the brutalist, modernist design language. Signed JMB and dated 06/90 on the side, the piece appears like a small archaic figure, simultaneously 1990s and timeless. Firing marks and a minimal manufacturing imperfection are part of the surface and speak of the process.
