Original cantilever chair by Herbert Hirche for Mauser, manufactured in West Germany around 1950/60. Chromed tubular steel supports the upholstered seat and back; the lines remain clean, the construction visible. The chair translates Bauhaus principles into post-war modernism: reduction, balanced proportions, material honesty. The developed patina tells a story of use, the statics are reliable. As a single piece or in combination, it is calm in expression and comfortable in use. Well compatible with wood, stone and textile surfaces. Adds a subtle, constructive accent at the table or in the studio.
