Yngve Ekström's Circle Chair for Swedese is an armchair where form dictates posture. The circular backrest forms a clear arc of white lacquered wood, enclosing the seat shell like a graphic gesture from Swedish post-war modernism. This particular piece has been completely reupholstered in a calm grey, with an orange counterpart on the back of the cushion. The lacquer shows visible signs of wear. This is precisely what gives the design its credible patina.
