The RAR Rocking Armchair by Charles and Ray Eames translates an idea from the 1948 MoMA competition into a form that is still relevant today. A one-piece, ergonomically shaped shell and an interchangeable base. At the time, this was a step forward, as chairs were usually conceived from clearly separate parts. This re-edition by Vitra builds on the Fiberglass Chairs, which were valued for their robustness and variability from 1950 onwards. Raw Umber brings calm to the setting and matches wood, stone, and textiles.
