The RAR by Charles and Ray Eames represents a new way of sitting. A molded seat shell, an interchangeable base, a design that stood out at the MoMA competition in 1948 and found its place in home decor from 1950 onwards as the Fiberglass Chair. This particular item is an original from that era, not a current re-edition. The fully upholstered brown shell appears calm and warm, while the wooden runners give the classic a light, homely movement. Cleaned and very well preserved.
