Cantilever chair S 43, after Mart Stam, from Czech production of the 1950s or 1960s. The design exemplifies the objective clarity of Bauhaus: reduced tubular steel, clear proportions, restrained materiality. This piece shows an honest patina and is in need of restoration. The wooden parts were over-varnished in the past and show damage, the chrome plating is dull in places, but overall well preserved. A chair with substance, clearly conveying the functionalist character of the model. The price is for a single chair.
