Francois Monnet's coffee table for Kappa from the 1970s embodies the language of French post-war modernism: industrial in concept, precisely designed, with sculptural serenity. Four brushed steel elements form a symmetrical pedestal, topped by a square smoked glass plate with fine metal edges. Reflection and tinting mutually recede, creating clear geometry. A table that doesn't dominate the room but shows character. Patina is present: light scratches on glass and steel, plus a small chip on the underside of one corner.
