The Arco by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni is a subtle feat of engineering from 1962. Born from the desire for good lighting without interfering with the ceiling, it translates the principle of street lighting into home interiors. A massive marble base provides support, while the far-reaching steel arch precisely positions the round lamp head over a sofa or dining table. The design appears functional but never cold. This vintage example is in good condition and bears the clear signature of Flos.
