This baluster-shaped ceramic vase references the English Staffordshire tradition from around 1890 to 1920. A chinoiserie landscape motif in dark rosé, executed as a transfer print and hand-accentuated, is applied to a white glaze. The robust body, rectangular foot, and angular neck give the silhouette a sense of calm and presence. Relief handles in the form of foliage with stylized peaches are situated on the sides. A fine patina on the rim and neck is part of the piece's history and contributes harmoniously to its overall appearance.
