Product details
Five antique wall plates made of polychrome faience by Sarreguemines, manufactured by Utzschneider and Cie between 1875 and 1900. The military decor depicts scenes and branches of the French army, applied as brown transfer print and hand-colored. As a group, the plates resemble a quiet picture archive: graphic, narrative, with the serene patina of a utilitarian object. Fine crazing and age-related traces are present and contribute to their charm.
