With the Tulip chairs, Eero Saarinen liberated the room from the "slum of legs." A serene single pedestal, a clean, swiveling shell. In a set of four, they create orderly silhouettes around the table. Designed in 1957 and produced for Knoll International, these examples are from Wohnbedarf, Switzerland. The upholstered pink seat cushions add a soft accent to the white frame. Comfortable, easy to swivel, visually calm. Traces of age are present, even and honest. Ideal for the dining room, kitchen, or studio. Form and function in perfect balance. A set that combines mid-century precision with everyday practicality.
