Product details
This barbotine ceramic plate from Caldas da Rainha playfully combines trompe l'oeil and maritime opulence. A spider crab emerges three-dimensionally, surrounded by shells, seaweed, and a finely textured surface. The polychromy is rich but not loud, typical of the Portuguese manufacturer and close to the design language of Bordallo Pinheiro. Created in the 1960s and 1970s, the plate functions equally well as a wall object or a sculptural table piece. A piece that brings together humor and craftsmanship.
