The NT Chair by Motomi Kawakami for arflex is a serene classic from 1977. A molded plywood frame features soft curves. The seat and back are woven with elastic, comfortable webbing. The webbing can be adjusted for tension. It has no armrests and is stackable. A design that works in both residential and commercial spaces. Awarded the Good Design Long Life Design Award in 2009, this vintage example shows patina but remains solid. Timeless in its stance and understated in its expression, the proportions are well-balanced. The seat height of 43 cm is ideal for a dining table. The lines remain clean, the tactile qualities warm.
