Product details
This mirror is designed as a window and tells a story of early modern North Indian craftsmanship. Rajasthan, presumably 1920s to 1930s. Riders and camels pass by on hand-painted buffalo bone, in the style of Rajput miniatures. The wooden structure is covered with bone plates, accompanied by old fittings and two shutters that open like a small art object. Traces of use are visible and fitting: small imperfections in the painting, patina on the metal, traces of former markings.
