This turned wooden box from the 1950s to 1960s appears to be a quiet serving accessory for everyday use. Light, lacquered wood, a softly rounded shape with two flattened sides, and a generous lid with a knob. The darker grain lines on one side are not a flaw but part of the material and its history. Inside, there are light pencil marks; outside, a small, unobtrusive scratch. A piece of mid-century craftsmanship that works just as well on a sideboard as on a dining table.
