This small, egg-shaped jewelry box is from Apilco's Limoges production for Maison Deshoulières and dates from between 1925 and 1939. White porcelain, clean-lined, with a subtle bow relief serving as the handle. An object somewhere between Art Deco and fine tableware, intended for jewelry, small treasures, or as a bonbonnière. The glaze appears calm and well-maintained, and the lid fits snugly. A quiet piece that is present in everyday life without being obtrusive.
