Product details
This small Limoges dish works with contrast: deep cobalt blue from the kiln glaze, with a white "reservé" decor in clear lines on top. The stylized catfish, accompanied by a starfish and seaweed, appears like a graphic study with a japonisant perspective. Created in the mid-20th century, between 1940 and 1960. The execution is attributed to Marcel Chaufriasse, even though the piece is unsigned. As a "vide-poche" on the sideboard or as an object on the shelf, it convinces with its tranquility, color, and precise drawing.
