The AX Lounge Chair is a clean design by the Danish duo Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. Manufactured by Fritz Hansen since the 1950s, it represents early mass production of molded plywood chairs. This particular example has been expertly restored. After sanding and oiling, the molded wood reveals a warm depth. The new upholstery in olive-green teddy fabric adds a soft touch to the sculptural silhouette. The design was conceived for mass production and continues to influence a family of variations. The chair has a light and serene feel, combining Danish modernism with contemporary comfort.
