Every piece of furniture, every lamp, every vase has lived somewhere before. This is precisely the idea behind 2nd home: We are the curated online marketplace for high-quality vintage and second-hand furniture and decoration – giving products with a history the 2nd home they deserve. 2nd home inspires, informs, and curates – for your unique and beloved home.
2nd home creates a dialogue between past and future. Our concept makes it easier than ever to buy second-hand instead of new: selling what is still good instead of throwing it away, and buying what has already been made instead of having new items produced. Furnishing with used items instead of new ones is not a compromise, but a statement. Small traces of time are not a flaw with us, but character.
Behind every piece is a person: specialized vintage dealers, commercial providers, and private enthusiasts. We are the link between them – and select who offers on our platform: we check commercial sellers before admitting them and list private sellers after registration. This way, we avoid the uneasy feeling of anonymous platforms and create a community where you can buy and sell with confidence. Together, we embark on a journey through stories, styles, and eras – breathing new life into beloved products.
Part of the concept is that you buy second-hand with clear information: honest condition descriptions with real photos instead of catalog images, our buyer protection, 14-day right of withdrawal for commercial sellers, secure payment and insured shipping, from parcels to freight delivery.
2nd home was founded in 2023 by Cloudy Zakrocki and Michael Munder – with the mission to provide design lovers with easy access to unique second-hand vintage furniture. Cloudy Zakrocki is a former editor-in-chief of world-renowned magazines and an expert in brand building; Michael Munder is an e-commerce expert who helped make furnishing retailers like Porta and Depot big. Both know: it is the community that makes us stronger.
You are wonderfully unique – so why should you conform? Discover our latest pieces or give your own beloved items a 2nd home.
There are many second-hand platforms. Most function like digital flea markets: unstructured, unsorted, and full of random finds. 2nd home deliberately takes a different approach – behind every piece you find with us is a seller admitted by 2nd home. Only items that meet our standards for design, quality, and condition make it into the shop.
Behind the curation is a team with many years of experience in all areas of Home & Living – from furniture and lighting to carpets and home accessories. We track down new assortments and dealers and ensure quality. Added to this is our community of professional sellers and private enthusiasts, whose knowledge helps us achieve the highest standards.
Selected Sellers: We check commercial dealers before admission, among other things based on trade registration, assortment quality and references; private sellers are listed after registration.
Pre-filtering: We pre-filter the assortments that are submitted. In the flood of fast-moving mass-produced goods, we distinguish ourselves through consistent quality assurance – what does not fit our assortment is not listed.
Manufacturer and provenance: For design classics from brands like Cassina, Vitra, or Thonet, we state the manufacturer and, where known, the provenance directly in the product description. Where possible, we check these details ourselves as well.
Honest representation: Condition, dimensions, and signs of wear are transparently stated in every description. All photos show the actual piece – no catalog images. Vintage means lived history, and that's exactly how we describe it.
Available, not pre-ordered: Every listed piece is available and ready to ship, with no production lead time as with new furniture. Shipping method and delivery time are stated on the product page.
We don't just wait for submissions: Our team actively searches for trends, stories, and sought-after pieces – from rarities to trendy retro finds. With every new item, we gather information so you can make an informed choice and constantly discover new things to your taste.
The curation is our promise: no long searches on outdated platforms, no anonymous providers, but an exclusive selection of sellers admitted by 2nd home. Rounded off by our buyer protection, comprehensive service, and insured shipping. This makes second-hand buying as reliable as buying new goods, with more character and without new production.
Discover the latest curated pieces – or submit your own favorite piece and let it become part of the curation.

Owner: Teoman Sude
Newly married and living in Heidelberg, Sudeteoantique has been collecting unique vintage pieces from flea markets and private collections for many years. Each item is carefully inspected and expertly restored before finding a new home.
Our aim is to offer high-quality individual pieces, transparent information and reliable, secure shipping – timeless, honest and with attention to detail.
Every piece on 2nd home has a story – and behind every piece is a person selected by 2nd home. Unlike anonymous classifieds platforms, we work exclusively with selected sellers: specialized vintage dealers, commercial providers, and selected private sellers who share our passion for good design.
Our assortment comes from three sources: Specialized vintage dealers who have focused on design classics and high-quality second-hand furniture for years – from Cassina to Vitra and Thonet to USM Haller. Commercial providers, whom we carefully vet before they are admitted to our platform. And private sellers who want to give their well-preserved furniture, lamps, rugs, and home accessories a 2nd home.
For design classics, we state the manufacturer and, where known, the provenance directly in the product description. Since the objects come from different sellers, they are shipped directly from their locations: smaller items as insured parcels, furniture by freight forwarding.
Your safety is our top priority. That's why 2nd home selects who may offer products here. We vet commercial dealers before admission based on, among other things, trade license, assortment quality, and references. This way, we avoid the uneasy feeling many people experience with anonymous platforms – and create a community you can trust.
Our team has many years of experience in all areas of Home & Living and actively searches for new dealers, assortments, and trends. Not everyone who wants to sell is admitted – quality always takes precedence over quantity for us.
In addition to dealer vetting, the following applies to every listing on 2nd home:
Pre-filtering: Only items that meet our standards for design, quality, and condition make it into the shop. This is how we deliberately differentiate ourselves from platforms with unstructured and inferior mass-produced goods.
Manufacturer and Provenance: For design classics, we state the manufacturer and, where known, the provenance. Where possible, we check these details ourselves as well; commercial sellers describe their pieces as specialist dealers.
Honest Description: Condition, dimensions, and signs of wear are transparently stated in every product description. All photos show the actual piece – no catalog images. Vintage means lived history, and that's exactly how we describe it.
So you can fully concentrate on the joy of furnishing, we secure every purchase: with our buyer protection, 14-day right of withdrawal for items from commercial sellers, and secure payment via the encrypted Shopify checkout. You can find out more about our selection process on the The 2nd home Curation page.
