This Ma-Tansu chest of drawers comes from the Iwayado Tansu workshop. Crafted in Iwate, where keyaki, urushi, and iron have been combined for centuries. The front displays a vibrant grain in a deep reddish-brown, finished with layered urushi lacquer. Hand-hammered iron fittings create a calm, graphic structure. Inside, lightweight kiri wood provides dry storage. A tall, architectural piece of furniture with a striking silhouette and ample storage space. Traces of use speak of time and care. A piece of Japanese interior design that blends seamlessly into modern spaces. The proportions are clean, the materials speak for themselves.
