Plia marks the beginning of a new era in the late 1960s. Giancarlo Piretti designed the folding chair in 1967 for Anonima Castelli. Chrome meets transparent surfaces. The silhouette is understated, the function straightforward. The set of four chairs brings clarity to the table, whether in the dining room or the studio. The folding mechanism works precisely, the chairs fold flat. Signs of wear tell of decades of use: scratches on the seat, back, and frame, and a small chip in the plastic on one chair.
