The Fibonacci lamp, designed by Sophus Frandsen for Fog and Mørup in 1964, represents Danish lighting design in its purest form. White, concentric metal rings layer the light to create a soft, glare-free atmosphere. A sliding central section regulates the distance to the light source—and thus the effect and intensity. The originally included lower funnel is missing, as is the case with many surviving examples; this opens up the downward diffusion of light. Once at home in the foyers of Danish schools, the lamp looks equally serene above a dining table, in a stairwell, or in a studio. Awarded in the 1960s, its design remains timeless.
