Giovanni Offredi's Paracarro dining table for Saporiti Italia demonstrates how radically understated a statement can be. A square glass top with gently rounded corners rests on a massive concrete base structured by recessed metal rails. The interplay of heavy base and clear surface appears architectural, almost like a small plaza in the room. Designed in 1973, it is rooted in 1970s Italian design culture. The table is very well preserved, with only minimal, age-related marks on the glass.
