Florence Knoll approached furniture design from the perspective of space. Clear, precise, without embellishment. This coffee table from 1954 translates this approach into a serene everyday object: a square glass top supported by a slender steel frame. The proportions appear intentionally understated, allowing sofas, rugs, and books to breathe. A piece of Mid-Century design that makes the connection to Bauhaus modernism palpable. The table is well-preserved, with visible signs of use, fine scratches in the glass, and a small chip on the edge.
