Diese Beethoven-Totenmaske aus Gips ist ein stilles Objekt mit skulpturaler Präsenz. Entstanden in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts, wirkt sie zugleich historisch und eigenwillig modern. Die Oberfläche zeigt eine gewachsene Patina in Elfenbein-, Beige- und Ockertönen, dazu feine Spuren von Alter und Feuchtigkeit. Gerade diese Unregelmäßigkeiten geben dem Wandobjekt Tiefe. Als Curiosité, Sammlerstück oder ruhiger Kontrapunkt in einem reduzierten Interieur entfaltet die Maske ihre besondere Wirkung ohne laut zu werden.
