Verpan Vintage Furniture and Design

Verpan was founded in 2003 as the official brand for the authorised re-edition of the furniture and lighting work of Verner Panton (1926-1998) and works closely with Marianne Panton (Verner Panton's widow). Verpan produces Panton classics exclusively, making accessible once again the pop and space-age language Panton developed in the 1960s and 70s.

Central Verpan re-editions are the VP Globe pendant lamp (1969), the Spiral pendant lamp series (1969-71), the Wire Cube lounge chair range (1971), the Living Tower module (1969, a vertical sculptural seating landscape), the Cloverleaf sofa modules (1969) and the System 1-2-3 chair series (1973). Materials include high-gloss lacquered steel, lacquered plywood, dense polyurethane foam and intensely coloured fabric or velour covers in the characteristic Panton colours (red, orange, mustard yellow, turquoise, black). The Flowerpot and Topan lamps, by contrast, are produced by &Tradition: with Panton classics it pays to check the licensing note.

On the vintage market, early Verpan re-editions from the 2000s and 2010s are especially sought after, above all VP Globe pendants and Living Tower modules in the original pop colours. When you examine a piece, look for the punched or stamped Verpan logo, the workshop label with model designation, dating and licensing note (authorised edition) and intact lacquer and upholstery surfaces.
