Pallucco was founded in Treviso in 1980 by Paolo Pallucco and his partner Mireille Rivier as a furniture and lighting manufactory. With its own postmodern, often provocatively industrial design language, Pallucco shaped the Italian design scene of the 80s and early 90s.

The best-known pieces of the early phase are the Tankette tables (1989) by Paolo Pallucco and Mireille Rivier: low coffee and sofa tables with a steel tank look and track-like side elements, at once a technical statement and an anti-furniture manifesto. The Pallucco line also included authorised re-editions of classic Bauhaus and Swiss modernist pieces (Hans Bellmann seating, Mart Stam classics) as well as floor lamps such as the Fortuny floor lamp (a re-edition of the 1907 Mariano Fortuny original, from 1985). Today Pallucco mainly produces high-quality lighting editions and smaller furniture series.

On the vintage market, original Pallucco pieces from the 80s and 90s are especially sought after, above all Tankette tables and early Fortuny floor lamp re-editions. When you examine a piece, look for the stamped or engraved Pallucco brand logo, the original workshop label with model number and dating, and intact industrial surfaces without corrosion or later powder coating.
