HK Living was founded in the Netherlands in 1999 and ranks among the defining Dutch home accessories brands of the late 1990s and 2000s. The brand positions itself at the intersection of ethnically inspired living style, bohemian eclecticism and contemporary Scandinavian design, establishing itself above all in textiles, tableware, lighting and smaller furniture editions.

Characteristic of HK Living is a broad range of home accessories with a wide variety of global influences: hand-woven wool rugs and cushions with boho and Berber motifs, hand-painted stoneware and ceramic tableware in matte glazes (above all the popular HK Living mid-century tableware series), rattan and bamboo lighting, wood and wicker furniture and wall and seating benches. Materials are exclusively natural (wool, cotton, rattan, bamboo, solid wood, stoneware, ceramics), often in handcrafted and partly irregular workmanship that underlines the bohemian, handcraft character.

On the vintage market, early HK Living editions from the late 1990s and 2000s are especially sought after, above all discontinued mid-century tableware variants and original hand-woven rugs. When you examine a piece, look for the stamped HK Living logo on the body or base (often with a model designation), the characteristic handcrafted workmanship and intact original glaze or fabric surfaces without aggressive restoration.
