A porcelain figurine from the 1920s to 1930s, capturing the tranquility of a reading woman. The tall headdress, a gilded top, and a cobalt blue ermine coat create clear Art Deco accents, with a slight, Russian-inspired gesture. "J. Vesques" is incised into the underside of the cape. The signature is sometimes attributed to Jeanne de Leyritz-Vesques, but the manufacturer remains unknown. A quiet object for a shelf, sideboard, or display case, with finely preserved charm.
