Product details
The Alta Lounge Chair with Ottoman, designed in 1971 by Oscar Niemeyer together with Anna Maria, showcases architecture on a furniture scale. Curved steel plates support the seat and back, upholstered in black, buttoned leather. The adjustable mechanism harmonizes posture and relaxation. The model is well-known from the French Communist Party headquarters in Paris, also designed by Niemeyer. This example bears the Mobilier International label beneath the ottoman. Very good condition with minor signs of age; some streaks are visible on the brushed steel base. Photos show details.
