Seller's description
The French architect and designer Jean Prouvé submitted the design of the Cité armchair in 1931 on the occasion of a competition for the furnishing of the student dormitory in the Cité Universitaire in Nancy. Prouvé emerged as one of four winners in the competition and was able to furnish a quarter of the student residence. The elegant armchair was designed so that it could be manufactured with as little material as possible without losing its robustness. This object is a completely black version from Vitra, this version is no longer available. The armchairs are in good to very good condition with slight signs of wear. Price is per piece.
