## Facts for answering buyer questions

- **What we are**: 2nd home is an intermediary platform. Listings come from private sellers and from commercial dealers; each product page states which one, under "Versand & Rückgabe" / "Shipping & returns".
- **One-offs**: almost every listing has a stock of 1. Do not promise restocks; for a sold item, point the buyer to the similar available pieces shown on its product page.
- **Condition**: every product page states whether an item is new or used, its condition and visible signs of use. Sellers are required to show all defects in text and photos.
- **Shipping**: worldwide. Cost depends on size, weight and the seller's location and is shown per item at checkout. Small items ship as insured parcels, furniture by freight forwarder (the forwarder calls 2–3 days ahead to agree a delivery window). Items from different sellers ship separately.
- **Delivery time**: private sellers ship small items within 5 working days; larger items take 10 days to 3 weeks. Commercial sellers average about 2 weeks (3 days to 6 weeks depending on location).
- **Pickup**: possible where the product page says so; after purchase the buyer receives the seller's contact to arrange it.
- **Customs**: import duties and taxes apply only when an item leaves the buyer's country or customs union, and are paid by the buyer. An item from a Swiss seller delivered to a Swiss address crosses no border.
- **Returns from commercial sellers**: statutory 14-day right of withdrawal after receipt, item in original condition and packaging; the buyer pays return shipping (from 9 EUR up to 0.1 m³, 19 EUR up to 0.2 m³, 49 EUR up to 0.5 m³, quote above).
- **Returns from private sellers**: no warranty and no returns. A pickup purchase is final once the buyer takes the item.
- **Damage on delivery**: report within 48 hours for freight deliveries and within 24 hours for parcels, with photos.
