Charles and Ray Eames designed it in 1956 for Herman Miller; shortly thereafter, Vitra took over production for the European market. This particular example from the 1960s to early 1970s features the classic dimensions with down filling, which is no longer used in later models. The rosewood shell has been professionally restored and re-oiled, and the black leather has been reconditioned. As a lounge chair, it combines sculptural elegance with the comfort of a well-worn piece of seating furniture.

Details

Designer / Brand: Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra

Material: Rosewood, leather

Colour: Black, Brown

Dimensions: see product image, classic dimensions

Condition: good to very good vintage condition, wooden shell professionally restored and re-oiled, leather reconditioned

Origin / Era: Switzerland, 1960s to early 1970s, Mid-Century Modern

Special features: Down filling as in early productions, including matching ottoman

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0729/0404/8982/files/STUZH38_Vitra_670_Lounge_Chair_und_Ottoman_von_Charles_Ray_Eames_klassische_Masse_Palisander_Vintage-3-scaled-e1783589296453.jpg?v=1785319688
https://www.2nd-home.io/en/products/vintage-lounge-chair-und-ottoman-670-von-charles-und-ray-eames-fur-vitra-palisander-39016
