Holdcroft, England 1870-1880","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis large-format jardinière in English majolica features the naturalistic relief decoration typical of the Victorian era: broad water lily leaves, flowers and buds on a brown ground, in rich green tones with a pink glaze on the interior. The piece is unsigned but is attributed to the majolica production of Joseph Holdcroft based on form and decoration. An old dealer's label from the Toulouse specialist shop Eugène Trapé is found on the underside. The matching saucer bears a historical repair with staples.
