Zustand: good vintage condition with signs of wear (no cracks)

"They should be new in every respect" - this was the requirement of the Bauhaus student Hans Fischli when, in 1938, he is said to have asked Hans Coray to design models for the official chair at the Swiss national exhibition in 1939. One of the Zurich designer's two prototypes was finally realized: a chair made entirely of aluminum with a clear, two-part structure, consisting of a base frame under a separate three-dimensionally shaped seat shell. Its appearance is characterized by the characteristic 91 punched holes, which not only gave the chair visual lightness, but also allowed it to save weight. After an interruption in production during the Second World War and the period of spiritual national defense, different companies sold the design classic, each slightly changing the appearance. Before production was handed over to Vitra in 2014, it was manufactured by the Swiss metal goods factory Wädenswil, Westermann AG and Zanotta. They are stackable, weatherproof and very light at just under three kilograms. They are in good vintage condition with signs of wear (no cracks). The price is for a set of two chairs.
