The appearance of the chair was characterized by the characteristic 91 punched holes, which not only gave the chair a visual lightness, but also saved weight. After a production interruption during the Second World War and the period of intellectual national defense, various companies sold the design classic, each slightly modifying the appearance. Before production was transferred to Vitra in 2014, they were manufactured by Westermann AG, Zanotta and the Wädenswil metal goods factory. The latter began producing under the abbreviation MEWA in 1950, which was used to label many items, including the Landi chair. From 1962, MEWA produced the chair in a slightly modified form with six holes instead of seven. The chairs on offer date from the production period between 1963 and 1998 and are in the rare color red. They are stackable, weatherproof and very light at just under three kilograms. The set of four is in good to very good condition.
